Land of mountains, lakes and silent wilderness

Torridon and Assynt are among the most remote and wildest mainland corners of Scotland - more so than Glencoe or the Isle of Skye. I rarely venture there, so this is an exceptional opportunity for those who want to experience a truly raw landscape away from the tourist trails - and be there with me.

Scotland is home to stunning lochs, vast forests and majestic mountains, offering incredible diversity and countless opportunities for creating breathtaking photographs.

From the mysterious lochs like Loch Assynt, through the magical Caledonian Forest to the iconic peaks of Suilven and Beinn Eighe, this landscape will directly astound you with its beauty and atmosphere. Immerse yourself in this magical wilderness and bring back unique and magnificent photographs that will remind you of an unforgettable journey into the heart of the Scottish landscape.

Thanks to the support of the Czech branch of Sony and the photographic filter specialist Haida, we will also have the opportunity to try out Sony equipment and Haida system filters.

The aim of each expedition is for the participants to bring back the best possible photographs, improve their photographic skills on location - primarily composition, working with light and technically relevant aspects of working on location. Together we will adapt the program accordingly, and I will be available to the participants at all locations according to their needs.

Torridon

From a landscape photographer's perspective, Torridon is a captivating canvas of natural wonders. Its rugged peaks, Liathach and Beinn Alligin, stand proudly against the sky, beckoning to capture their majesty. Endless, heather-covered slopes offer a mosaic of vibrant colors and textures. In the tranquil lochs amidst the dramatic scenery, the surrounding mountains are reflected, creating stunning mirror images. As light dances across the landscape, casting shadows and illuminating hidden nooks, Torridon reveals itself as a photographer's paradise, where every shot holds the potential for unforgettable images.

Several days in the area around Loch Maree gives us the opportunity to explore it in depth.

After sunset or in bad weather, we can spend some time processing images to maximize their potential.

Our itinerary will be completely open so that we can adapt to the prevailing weather during the trip, with safety always being our priority.

Each morning, we'll review the planned locations for the day and adjust them according to the weather to maximize photographic opportunities while ensuring safety. At this time of year, there is still little sunlight, so photography in soft, warm light is possible throughout the day.

Assynt

For a landscape photographer, discovering the Assynt landscape is like entering a realm of ancient beauty.

This remote corner of Scotland boasts a mystical charm that ignites the imagination. The iconic peaks of Suilven and Stac Pollaidh dominate the horizon, their rugged silhouettes beckoning to capture their raw and untamed essence. The enchanting Loch Assynt reflects the surrounding mountains, creating ethereal compositions that stir the soul.

In every corner of Assynt lies an opportunity to capture the essence of a truly magical and untamed Scottish landscape.

"Dane, I also join in thanking you for a fabulously planned, organized, and above all, wonderfully led event. Thank you for the advice regarding both the technical aspects and, above all, the composition. I have much to think about and my head is full of experiences. Thanks to the group for the great atmosphere, I felt excellent and had a great time. You are all very inspiring, but above all, great people. I would gladly go with such a group again in the future. I will be following you. Have a safe trip home."

"Dane, thanks again for the super workshop, it was great, the location, the time of year, the light. Well organized, great accommodation. When you organize another Scotland somewhere else, or the UK, I'm in. Take care, and good luck."
