Practical Information and Shipping Terms
Practical shipping information
Before departure, participants will receive a detailed participant guide containing recommended equipment, photography techniques, logistical information, and practical tips for photography in the British Isles.
Below you will find basic practical information about shipping.
How the photo shoot works
We mainly take photos during the morning and evening light.
We always tailor the program to the current conditions: the light, the weather, the tide, and the atmosphere of the day.
Sometimes we’ll have to wait a while for the light. Other times, we’ll quickly change locations if conditions take a different turn than the forecast predicted.
The goal isn't to visit as many places as possible, but to create the best possible conditions for photography.
Weather and Conditions
April is a great time for photography in northern England.
The landscape is starting to turn green, the sun is still relatively low in the sky, and the weather tends to be very changeable.
However, it is important to keep in mind that:
by the wind
in the rain
on wet ground
the morning chill
rapid changes in the weather
We take photos regardless of the weather, not just when it’s nice. The British countryside is often at its most interesting precisely when you instinctively wonder if it might be better to stay indoors.
Working under these conditions is a crucial part of the entire expedition.
Recommended equipment
Recommended photography equipment:
wide-angle lens
standard zoom
medium telephoto lens
sturdy tripod
polarizing filter
Spare parts for filters
enough batteries
Protecting equipment from rain
drone (optional)
If you shoot on the Sony system and are interested, I can in some cases help you rent specific equipment or filters.
Clothing
I recommend layered outdoor clothing suitable for changeable weather.
Ideally:
a high-quality waterproof jacket
waterproof pants
a warmer mid-layer
outdoor footwear for wet terrain
a hat and gloves
Lightweight rubber boots can also come in handy for beach photography.
Physical difficulty
The expedition is of moderate physical difficulty.
Most locations are within a short walk of 30–60 minutes.
There won’t be any extreme climbs or long mountain crossings. However, you should expect to be walking on wet and, in places, uneven terrain.
What I expect from participants
The expedition works best with a group of people who share a similar passion for photography, travel, and working in the outdoors.
Above all, it is important that:
flexibility
willingness to get up early
patience while waiting for the right conditions
respect for other participants
willingness to take photos even in uncomfortable situations
Payment and Cancellation Policy
Reservations are secured upon payment of a non-refundable deposit of CZK 18,000 or €730. If I manage to fill your vacated spot, or if the expedition is cancelled, I will refund your deposit.
The remaining balance is due no later than 2 months before departure

Transportation
The expedition begins and ends at Manchester Airport.
Shared transportation throughout the entire expedition is included in the price.
Participants will receive detailed information about recommended flights and logistics prior to departure.
Insurance
Throughout the expedition, we will be actively moving around in nature, and although we will definitely not be undertaking any dangerous activities, there is always a risk of injury and damage to equipment. I therefore recommend that all participants obtain travel insurance covering risks associated with the trip - inability to travel for health reasons, injury abroad, and insurance against loss and damage to equipment.
